Nordik

Nordik is inspired by minimalism and Scandinavian design, their range of Icelandic salmon leather goods are designed in New Zealand and produced in Italy. Designer Lilja Viggósdóttir combines textural salmon leather with clean minimalist design that showcases the raw elegance of this unique, diverse material.

I support this brand as they ethically manufacture with meticulous attention to detail, Nordik products are not only beautiful, but environmentally conscious. All of Nordik bags are ethically made in Northern Italty, with high quality Italian craftsmanship. The bags are also made with Icelandic salmon leather, which is tanned using renewable hydro and geothermal energy.

My current favourites from the collection includes The Greta Tote and the Else Coin purse. The salmon leather can vary from a rough 'open scale' finish to a smoother, more refined 'closed scale finish'. The Greta Tote comes in a lacquered, smooth finish, the inside of the bag is also made with matching Italian cowhide. Whereas, the Else Coin purse has a metallic finish, giving the overall product more texture as the scales are slightly more open.
